 MAURO ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS USING

THUNDER BAY, ON - June 9, 2008 - McGuinty Government Helps Business Reduce Energy Consumption

A wood design company in Murillo is reducing its natural gas consumption by converting biowaste into energy.

Bill Mauro, MPP for Thunder Bay – Atikokan is pleased that the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $26,700 to Precision Wood Design Inc. to assist with the purchase and installation of equipment that will lower its overall energy costs.

Waste wood fibre is now being used as an energy source to heat the building and kilns.

“This investment will help Precision Wood create more value-added products and support their market expansion plans,” said Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro.  “The technology being proposed for this project could stand as a benchmark for other small wood-related and bio-product manufacturers across the North.”
