Man who victimize of seniors

January 22, 2008 ~ Thunder Bay  ~ Police are trying to identify a man who has been victimizing several seniors.  This male appears to have ability to gain the trust of his victims. In an incident yesterday a 74 year old woman appears to have been victimized by an individual who gained access to her South Cumberland Street apartment.  In this case the suspect was able to grab a small amount of cash.  read more....>

Stabbing 200 block of North Brodie

January 6, 2008 ~ On Saturday January 05, 2008 at 8:10 p.m. members of the Thunder Bay Police Service and Emergency Medical Services responded the laneway in the 200 block of North Brodie Street for a report of a male who had been assaulted.

On arrival it was learned that a male had been stabbed. He was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where was listed in critical condition.

The male responsible for the attack was described as:

A Native Canadian of unknown age over six feet tall with a husky build and approximate weight of two hundred and thirty five (235) pounds.

The male got into the passenger side of vehicle described as a small dark newer model two door with two round rear lights. The vehicle is possibly similar to a Mazda type.

The vehicle drove off east on Cumming Street across May Street.

The Thunder Bay Police Service encourages anyone with information regarding this assault to contact them at 684-1251 or Crime Stoppers at 623-TIPS, 623-8477.

 Robbery in the city's in north end

November 13, 2007 Thunder Bay Police are investigating a robbery which occurred overnight in the north end of the city.

A 23 year old female was walking on North Court St. at 0350hrs, when she was accosted by another female. The suspect appeared to be Native Canadian, in her early 20's, 5'8" with a heavy build, wearing a black sweater and white pants.

The suspect grabbed the victim's purse, a struggled ensued and the suspect made off with the victims sweater and wallet. The victim was scratched by the suspect during the altercation. The suspect was last seen running westbound on Camelot St.

Thunder Bay Police have reported that an OPP dive team has recovered a body from the waters of the McIntyre River.

The divers have spent the past two days searching the area near the May Street Bridge as part of a broader search effort to locate a missing teenager and around 4 p.m. Thursday a body was removed from the water.more info....>

 Scott Dove Murder

October 30, 2007

October 31, 2007 will mark the passing of 23 years since Scott DOVE went missing.  DOVE, who was 17 years old, was last seen leaving his north end home the morning of October 31, 1984.  His body was discovered on December 1, 1984 in a rock quarry off of Copenhagen Road.  Scott DOVE was the victim of murder.

On this anniversary, the Thunder Bay Police Service would like to remind the public that there is a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Scott DOVE.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Thunder Bay Police or Crime Stoppers.
