The body which was recovered from the Kaministiquia River has been identified as 31 year old Jonathan David SKILLINGS. Mr. SKILLINGS had been missing since November 14, 2007.

In an incident yesterday a 74 year old woman appears to have been victimized by an individual who gained access to her South Cumberland Street apartment. Stabbing 200 block of North Brodie
January 6, 2008 ~ On Saturday January 05, 2008 at 8:10 p.m. members of the Thunder Bay Police Service and Emergency Medical Services responded the laneway in the 200 block of North Brodie Street for a report of a male who had been assaulted.
On arrival it was learned that a male had been stabbed. He was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where was listed in critical condition.
The male responsible for the attack was described as:
A Native Canadian of unknown age over six feet tall with a husky build and approximate weight of two hundred and thirty five (235) pounds.
The male got into the passenger side of vehicle described as a small dark newer model two door with two round rear lights. The vehicle is possibly similar to a Mazda type.
The vehicle drove off east on Cumming Street across May Street.
