February 12  2008  ~ Thunder Bay ~ Don Paterson, Chairman of the Board of TBayTel, has announced the appointment of Don Campbell as interim CEO of TBayTel replacing Peter Diedrich, who has been President and CEO since September 2006. Mr. Paterson said that Mr. Campbell, a highly respected Thunder Bay business and community leader, would have full management responsibility for the company and would work closely with the Board until a permanent CEO is recruited.

Mr. Campbell is Chairman of the Board of Governors of Lakehead University and was Vice-President, Resident Manager, Bowater, Thunder Bay Operations.

In an announcement delivered to TBayTel staff this morning, Mr. Paterson said that the change in CEO was “required to ensure that the Board and the CEO share a vision of the direction and style that the company will take in the future.”

Mr. Paterson said, “The senior managers of the company have achieved a great deal to be proud of and today’s change must not be seen as a negative reflection of the managers or staff of the company. The Board has the highest regard for the employees of the company and how much they do, day in and day out, for the company and our community. The Board and our employees share the understanding that strong and positive relationships with our customers, our community and
the Municipal Council, our shareholder, has driven our past success and is essential for a successful future.”

announcement sent on behalf of the Board.
