Don McArthur a 44-year-old  businessman and former mayor Schreiber will carry the Liberal banner in the next federal election in Thunder Bay Superior North ridding. He defeated Mary Long-Irwin, a 51-year-old on leave from her job as president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, and  Dave Shannon, a 44-year-old lawyer and disabilities activist.. Two nomination meetings were held on Saturday by the Thunder Bay-Superior North Federal Liberal Riding Association to elect its new candidate – one at the Schreiber Recreation Complex and another at the Italian Cultural Centre in Thunder Bay. Joe Comuzzi, the Conservative member Thunder Bay Superior North riding says he will decide whether to run again once an election is called.  McArthur,will face   Bruce Hyer of the NDP in the next election, his third attempt.
