Thunder Bay ON - June 7 2008 - Car number 40 wins his heat in the years George Jeffrey
Children's Centre Soap-box derby. The races began Friday evening and continued on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
A close up look at some of these little racers reveal a lot of creativity and hard work. As well as making a racer, I expect the time that the time was well spent raising their children well. Getting children involved with the building and design experience is great parenting, and that is something that the George Jeffrey's people would support fully.
The quality of these racers is much better than when the soap-box derby started. It reveals a thing or two about our city. We have tradesmen here. People who can build things and have skills. If these families can put something like this together in their garage, just imagine what they can do at work in a fully equipped facility.
I could not help think as these little racers went by, that these cars were proudly made in Canada, right here in Thunder Bay. Perhaps by the time high gas prices turn our present wheels into dinosaurs, we could really be looking at proto-types for 2112! Watch the video by clicking Here!
